New to an LPA Regional?
Here’s some helpful information to get you started!
Regional weekends are smaller than National Conference, but they’re filled with just as much connection and excitement. You’ll find a mix of workshops, social events, dances, and local outings -- all designed to bring members and families together from nearby states.
Before you attend, take time to review the weekend schedule so you can plan what sessions or activities you want to join. Regionals are a great way to meet members in a more relaxed setting, and for first-timers, they offer a wonderful introduction to the LPA community.
If you’re bringing children, check out the youth and kids’ programming. Teens and adults alike will find opportunities to socialize, attend panels, and enjoy the evening dances.
Make sure to attend the General Assembly or Chapter meeting — it’s a great way to learn what’s happening across your district and how you can get involved. And don’t forget to take advantage of local attractions during free time; regionals often highlight the best parts of the host city or town.
Above all, have fun, meet new friends, and embrace the weekend! These smaller gatherings are where lifelong connections are made.
New to LPA National Conferences?
Here’s some information that may be helpful.
National Conferences are action-packed weeks filled with activities for every age group. If you’re imagining long days by the pool, think again — you’ll find workshops, social events, athletic competitions, nightly dances, and family programs happening all day long.
Before attending, review the conference schedule and highlight the sessions and activities that interest you. If your children are involved in DAAA or youth programming, plan your time accordingly — the week will move fast!
LPA offers activities for all ages, including opportunities for average-height siblings and relatives to connect. Don’t miss the Dwarf Athletic Association of America (DAAA) events — participation builds confidence, friendships, and memories for both kids and adults.
Stay connected with your family using cell phones or walkie-talkies, and plan at least one afternoon to explore the host city. Bring business cards to exchange contact info with new friends, and attend the workshops — they’re a valuable part of the experience.
Be ready for a mix of emotions when the week ends; the sense of belonging and community you’ll feel at conference is truly special. Embrace every moment and make the most of this unique opportunity to connect, learn, and celebrate together.
